‘Betty finale like Cinderella’

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Adam Rodriguez has likened the series finale of Ugly Betty to the story of Cinderella.

Rodriguez’s co-star Ana Ortiz recently confirmed that the last ever episode will see her alter ego Hilda walk down the aisle with Bobby (Rodriguez).

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Rodriguez elaborated: “Poor Hilda gets her happy ending. She so deserves it. She’s a good mom, a good daughter, a great person, and you really never get to see her win.

“She’s always faced with these obstacles and these bad guys that come in and out of her life who never work out. And finally she meets somebody who’s willing to love her the way she deserves to be loved.”

He added: “To end the show with her getting married and having that Cinderella moment for her is really great. I’m really excited about that. And for the character of Bobby, it’s a great way to show that this guy has really come full circle.”

Rodriguez went on to give the couple praise and said that he believes the audience will be happy to see them get married.

Ugly Betty continues Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC.

Adam Returns Full-Time to ‘CSI: Miami’

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Looks like your prayers have worked.

In case you haven’t heard, Adam Rodriguez is returning full-time to CSI: Miami from the next season. He made the announcement last Friday on his Twitter page, and was later confirmed by the folks at CBS.

That ends a pretty interesting trip for Rodriguez, whose character’s fate was left hanging after a cliffhanger ending to the seventh season, and was relegated to recurring status for a handful of episodes this season. At one point it felt like everything was certain, not after the entry of Eddie Cibrian and Omar Miller into the regular cast. He even appeared on Ugly Betty, but that show’s wrapping up later this year.

So, yes, we’ll be able to learn what will happen to Delko and Calleigh, especially after the rendezvous a few weeks ago. But here’s an interesting question: what will happen to everyone?

I always thought Eddie Cibrian would settle into Delko’s vacated slot nicely, but with Delko returning, I smell a rivalry of sorts. Not necessarily for Calleigh’s affections, mind you, although that’s been suggested as early as the beginning of this season. It’s just interesting to see how the de facto replacement deals with having the person he replaced hang around for much longer. Will it start sparks? Will there be a split within the team?

Another possible scenario: we get to explore Jesse’s back story more (remember, there’s this thing about him following a woman, fearing for her life) as Delko resumes his usual duties. But wouldn’t that be too crowded? I wouldn’t be surprised if a cast member gets relegated to recurring status. Hey, Dr. Loman needs a buddy in the recurring department, too…

Are you happy with Rodriguez’s full-time return to CSI: Miami? Was it a mistake to let him go in the first place? Hit me up in the comments, kids.

‘CSI: Miami’ Welcomes Adam Back

Friday, February 19th, 2010

“CSI: Miami” will be welcoming one of its own back into the fold next season.

Adam Rodriguez, who left the show after a few episodes this season, will return to the show full-time next year. Rodriguez tweeted the news on Friday (Feb. 19), saying, “I have some news that I hope will make ‘CSI:Miami’ fans happy. Eric Delko will be back to the show full time 4 all of season 9!!!”

CBS has also confirmed Rodriguez’s return as a full-time cast member.

Rodriguez has appeared in a handful of “CSI: Miami” episodes this season, most recently on Feb. 1. He’s also had a recurring part on “Ugly Betty,” but now that the ABC show is ending its run, he’s able to return to “Miami” for next season.

His character, Eric Delko, was written out following a series of traumatic events late last season and early this season. He’s made two subsequent appearances — first as a defense expert in a court case and then as an investigator for the Miami district attorney — and will be back again in the March 1 episode, “L.A.”
